Glossybox November 2013 – The Glossy Wishlist

I’m still absolutely loving receiving my Glossybox every month. November’s one is good, but what I’m really looking forward to is next months. Please let it be Christmas themed!!

The only thing that offended me in this month’s beauty box was the awful organza bag the Vichy samples came in. Why oh why!!!

So here’s what I got this month …..

Vichy, Emite Makeup, Elegant Touch, Connock London and Yves Rocher

Glossybox Magazine November 2013

Vichy – Idealia Life Serum 3x3ml samples

Full Size £29.50 for 30ml

Vichy is a great skincare brand and I couldn’t wait to try this serum. The Idelia life serum claims to improve the appearance of your skins quality, and protect from stress, pollution and an unbalanced diet. The serum is a gorgeous consistency and smells really good. I think you would have to purchase the product and use for a month to really see the effects, but nice to have a little try.

Emite Make Up – Micronized Eyeshadow in Dams

£16.80 for 1.48g

Emite Micronized Eyeshadow is free from oil, nickel, parabens, perfume, and is great for contact lens wearers or sensitive eyes. I was quite excited when I found this product in my Glossybox, as at nearly £17 full price, I class this as a luxury makeup item. The colour is identical to Mac’s ‘Shroom’ but is really crumbly and gave really bad fall down. I wouldn’t recommend purchasing this over Mac eyeshadow unless regular eyeshadow’s cause you sensitivity.

Yves Rocher France – Hand Cream

Full Size £1.95 for 75ml

Hand cream is an essential for winter and I welcomed this product in my November Glossybox. It has a light consistency and smells beautiful of chocolate and raspberry.

Elegant Touch – Nail Polish Remover Pads

Full Size £2 for 20 pads

These nail polish remover pads from Elegant Touch are amazing for throwing in your bag when travelling. I am never ever without painted nails, so normally use a bottle of polish remover, but these will be really handy.

Connock London – Kukui Eau de Parfum

£75 for 100ml

Connock London isn’t a fragrance brand I had heard of before, but I love discovering new perfumes. This fragrance has a sultry woody base of sandalwood, with floral top notes. I like it, but I don’t love it. I feel like the smell is a bit too mature for me (more for an older lady without being rude!).

Glossybox – £10 plus £2.95 p&p

Glossybox October 2013 – Dark Romance

Glossybox always give a few little hints throughout the month, and I was excited when I heard the theme was ‘dark romance’.  Lots of people were convinced we were going to get an on trend plum lipstick, so I was a tad disappointed when I opened the box.

Although there are a few good items, they don’t seem to relate to the theme at all.  Sort it out Glossybox!

So here’s what I got this month …..

Glossybox October 2013

MeMeMe – Cherub’s Blush – Cheek & Lip Tint

Full Size £5.50 for 12ml

I’ve never been a fan of lip and cheek tints.  I think a powder blush is much more blendable and I find the stains hard to remove if you over do it.  I’m definitely not brave enough to put this all over my face!

Katy Perry – Killer Queen Fragrance

£29.50 for 50ml

I love this new fragrance from Katy Perry and the fruity floral fragrance is very long lasting.  This is something I would wear for the evening, and one small spray gave a good strong fragrance.

Monu – Illuminating Primer

£24.95 for 50ml

I’ve been wanting to try out a primer for a while and look forward to trying out this one.  I’ve had a little test and it has a nice fragrance and is very moisturising.  Will get back to you on how this one works with foundation.

Premae – Multi-Vit Smoothie Serum

£22.50 for 50ml

Premae is the ‘world’s first allergen-free brand’  and anything they produce is more than kind to your skin.  This serum is fragrance fee and should be used before moisturising.  My skincare routine is very basic so a serum is something I usually skip.  As it’s a ‘kind to skin’ product I will give it a go and see if it makes an improvement.

Eva Cosmetics – Mystic Diamond Argon Oil

£22.70 for 100ml

If you follow me on twitter you will know that I’m always complaining about my frizzy hair.  I have just ordered some Moroccan Oil which has been recommended to me, so in the mean time I will give this argon oil a try.  I currently use a Tresseme argon oil so will see how this one compares.

Glossybox – £10 plus £2.95 p&p

Glossybox September 2013 – The London Edition

This is my second Glossybox, and as soon as I saw a sneaky peek of the box design a few weeks ago, I couldn’t wait to get it! The Union Jack – London themed box is in homage to London Fashion Week and is decorated with gorgeous red white and blue packaging.

The September Glossybox includes the first ever Glossybox magazine, which I think is a great addition to the contents. I was happy with my contents last month, but was delighted this month!

So here’s what I got this month …..

Elizabeth Arden – Untold, Eau De Parfum 5ml

Full Size £48 for 50ml

I love trying a new perfume, and was really pleased to get this handbag sized bottle of Elizabeth Arden’s Untold. The fragrance is sweet and sophisticated which is perfect for day wear.

Eyelure – Pre-glued Lashes

One Set £5.06

I love Eyelure Lashes and have never heard of pre-glued lashes, so I’m looking forward to trying these. They can be applied straight from the box with no fuss so these sound great. I normally go for more natural feathery lashes, so will see how these look on.

Toni & Guy Hair Meet Wardrobe – Classic Shine & Gloss Serum

Full size £7.19

I have super dry hair and always use a shine serum, so this is a great item for me! I haven’t used any Toni & Guy products for a while so I look forward to trying this.

Be a Bombshell Cosmetics – Onyx Eye Liner

Full size $14

I have never heard of Be A Bombshell Cosmetics so assume it’s an American brand. It claims to be it’s ‘best selling’ eyeliner and having tested it, it seems very long lasting. This is a felt pen type eyeliner and is easy to apply and create glamorous flicks.

Rimmel – Stay Blushed Blusher (004 Sunkissed Cherry)

Full size £4.49

Rimmel is a great British cosmetics brand and I was excited to try this product. I normally use a powder blush, but this one applies beautifully and has a lovely scent.

Glossybox September 2013 contents close

Overall the September Glossybox is full of great products and I would urge you to purchase this one if it’s still available. I can’t wait to try all the products properly and will let you know if any make it into my September favourites.

Glossybox – £10 plus £2.95 p&p

Glossybox August 2013 – highflyers

I’d heard beauty bloggers talking about Glossybox a lot, so looked it up to see what all the fuss was about. I love discovering new products so thought Glossybox was a great concept. I filled in a questionnaire after subscribing, so that the box contents can be tailored to my wants and needs. I am curious to how much effort is put into sending people personalised boxes but we will see!

My first Glossybox is the August highflyers box, and when it arrived I couldn’t wait to open it. I love the baby pink box and will use it to store all my nail polishes that are scattered all around my home. The contents of the Glossybox were tied neatly with a pink ribbon which was a pretty touch to the presentation.

I love the highflyers concept for the August box with brands from all over the world.

So here’s what I got…..

Sweden – Emite Make Up

Eyelash Curler, £20

I was delighted to get a new eyelash curler as my current one is looking worse for wear. This one seems like it is built well and was very comfortable when I tested it.

USA – Tresemmé

Keratin smooth concentrated treatment shot, £1.49 for full size

With the heat wave we have had in the UK, my hair has really dried out so am looking forward to trying this. It claims to turn your hair into summer goddess glory!

UK – Jelly Pong Pong

2 in 1 shadow liner, £10.50

I have never heard of Jelly Pong Pong so am curious to where you can buy this. At £10.50 RRP its gearing towards the price of Mac/Urban Decay/Benefit so I expect the quality to be good. I got the dark green shadow which is nice and shimmery and blends well.

Brazil – Oceane

Makeup remover pen, not yet available in the UK

I have never thought about purchasing a makeup remover pen before. I normally dab a bit of makeup remover on a cotton bud when I mess up, but this seems great. Really handy to keep in your makeup bag , especially if you sneeze just after applying mascara!

India – Urban Veda

Radiance day cream, £7.99 for full size

Urban Veda is a brand new skincare range founded on ancient Indian principles. It says it has been formulated to naturally combat pollution. The texture is nice and light but the smell is very strong and fragrant. Not sure if I would be brave enough to put this on my face due to the smell.

I will give all the products a good try and let you know if any of them are worth purchasing. Overall I love the August Glossybox and think the value for money on this one is good. Looking forward to the next one!
